Two stars, two undisputable legends of their genre, and two of the region’s most popular musicians – the “Yugoslovenian” Lepa Brena and the “Balkan” Senidah – faced off in front of more than 11,000 attendees at the region’s first Red Bull SoundClash.
Right at the confluence of the Danube and Sava Rivers in Belgrade, pop, folk, trap, and RnB faced off in an epic battle of genre and generation. A total of 5 different parts, 2 stages, the biggest hits of both stars, and a whopping 3 duets ensured that this ambitious musical event would go down in regional history.
What really made this spectacle special was the duets between the legendary Yugoslovenian and the Balkanka, which was fleshed out with special arrangements for all the songs, as well as having each star perform the other’s hits. Thus Lepa Brena put her spin on »Mišiće«, »Behute«, and »Dva Prsta«, while Senidah gave her renditions of »Ti si moj greh«, »Robinja«, and »Čik pogodi«.
The performance was concluded to a round of thunderous, record-breaking applause, but no clear winner was chosen.
